THE TEN RULES FOR BEING HUMAN

REPLACE RESENTMENT AND ANGER WITH COMPASSION IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Stop focusing on events – you can't control them. Focus on the meaning you give them, which you can control. The interpretations or the stories you make up about what is happening are what makes you happy or sad; resentful and angry or compassionate and caring and loving.

It goes something like –

I notice or observe; and then

I imagine/make up/interpret; and then

I feel; and then

What I do/how I act/behave is......

So get curious about and ask yourself what are the interpretations you are making that are resulting in your feeling angry, resentful, ashamed, guilty?

Let me give you an example. One of my old patterns is to schedule and take on too much to do and not enough time. So one way I deal with my stress and vulnerability around this is to interpret/tell myself a story that my partner has to do as much as I do and, because he doesn't, then I get resentful and angry. When people are resentful they try to regulate themselves by regulating or controlling their environment – and it is usually in unloving ways. How many times have you acted in 'a crazy way' by doing unloving and disrespectful things to make your partner/or the other be more loving or caring? My hand is up. I can get 'lecturery' and controlling, insisting my way is the right way. In fact pretty well all the times we are in conflict we think, “I'm right and they are wrong. My way is the way it goes.”

So if you are resentful about something or someone ask yourself, 'What is the meaning that I am giving to what they are doing?' Resentment happens when we focus on the way we think the world should be -rather than how it is. Suffering, stress, pain, misery … is about not living in the world the way it is – and people keep repeating their patterns because they think it should be working the way they think, rather than paying attention to what is actually happening!

Are you willing to experiment with being responsible for the condition of all of your relationships no matter the circumstances or the history? Imagine your purpose is to BE LOVE in any situation – needs a lot of courage and perseverance huh? Especially when we are talking about those people that you wouldn't want to be seated next to at a dinner party or share the same office with, or …

My invitation is for you to recharge your soul by working on being the best lover, partner, friend, parent that you can be. It is awesome that the very person (or behaviour) that bugs us the most has the potential to spiritually grow us the most. Consider this – that awakening is the meaning for all your relationships. What if you lived your life truly embracing the notion that conflict is the gateway to the deepest knowledge about yourself, and that embedded within it is an opportunity to heal old wounds and hurts and growth for both people?

So what does it mean to take responsibility for your feelings? It means that when you are feeling badly, you go inside and explore what YOU are telling yourself or doing that is causing you to feel badly and then you act with respect and care for yourself and the other. It is a bit like being on a treasure hunt. You uncover the treasure of your false, limiting beliefs which has led to your negative behaviours and then you replace them with behaviours that create peace and happiness.

We can also retrain our brains to be compassionate rather than resentful. It is not rocket science – if you want to feel lovable, you have to be loving. Compassion is, “I care about what you feel and how can I help you feel better.” Compassion isn't giving what you want to give. It is giving what the other wants to receive and doing what works for them. Compassion does not mean condoning bad behaviour – it is feeling compassion for the core hurt that made them do the behaviour. And being compassionate is one of the most selfish things that you can do. Why? Because when you are truly compassionate it feels gooooood. Mother Theresa called herself a compassionate junkie.

Don't trust your feelings when resentful or angry. They impair your ability. As Dr Steven Stosny says, you are:

  • Unable to see other perspectives or other people at all, apart from your reaction to them

  • Most likely exaggerating and oversimplifying the problem

  • Likely to violate your deepest values or act against your long term best interests

  • Less able to control impulses and tolerate frustration

  • Probably more self-righteous than right.

I turned 60 this year and have been teaching in the areas of personal and relational growth for the last 35 years, and one of the most important learnings in my life is to say that criticism, resentment and anger don't work. There is no place for them in a healthy body. Do whatever it takes to change and heal your resentment and anger. Every cell in your body, and even your DNA, reacts to your every thought and feeling. It is not good for you.

We think being resentful and angry will motivate the other to do what we want them to do. Even if they do what you want, there will be a kick back. It doesn't work! Think of anger and resentment like poison or something that is harmful and dangerous to your system. Would you keep putting mercury or lead into your system and keep telling yourself that it's okay? Think of resentment and anger in that way. You are poisoning yourself. Resentment is like taking poison to kill the other person – not logical or sensible and it doesn't work.

Your value as a person depends on how you behave, not on how your partner/the other behaves. Define yourself by your strengths, values, and resilience and your core value, not by the other's behaviour.

Declaration of emotional well-being (good to say aloud):

  • I am responsible for the thoughts I think and the things that I choose to pay attention to and my actions that follow … It's only a thought!

  • My emotional well-being is more important to me than everything I resent.

  • My emotional well-being is more important to me than everyone else's bad behaviour.

  • My emotional well-being depends on remaining true to my deepest core values.

Learning how to replace resentment and anger with compassion will make a major difference in your life and the lives of those you love. It will make you feel good and amazingly it will improve your health and all areas of your life.

BEING pooed on by a dolphin is one thing; seeing two of them have sex right in front of you is quite another. Hearing the high-pitched ring of dolphin song under the water is, well, indescribable.

I am fortunate enough to have all three experiences during one incredible five-minute dolphin swim encounter at Port Stephens, on the mid-north coast of NSW.

Fortunate may seem a strange choice of words, but according to Dolphin Swim Australia founder Andrew Parker, being pooed on by a dolphin is actually a sign of affection.

Dolphins, he tells me, often defecate when they meet other pods as a way of communicating and getting to know more about each other. The fact they are taking such action while swimming with humans shows they feel relaxed and comfortable around us.

Not being able to read dolphin excrement, I can't say I feel I know more about my new mate, but I do have an amusing status update for Facebook.

How it works
Unlike most other dolphin swim experiences, in which you hold on to a rope tied to a boat as they swim past you, in this interaction you attach yourself to a rope which hangs under the catamaran across the bow and are dragged along with them. As anyone who has spent time on boats will know, dolphins love swimming at the bow, so it kind of makes sense to join in the fun.

We had been up before light for our 6am Imagine cruise, watching the sun rise behind the surrounding hills as we left Nelson Bay's d'Albora marina.

Parker runs through safety instructions and warns us it is not a guaranteed experience; these are wild animals and everything depends on them. If it does happen, he tells us, one of the most important things is to remember to look around. Dolphins can approach from either side of the boat, underneath you or in front of you. One woman, he says, missed an amazing encounter entirely because she was looking down the whole time.

We put on our harnesses, snorkels and masks in anticipation and are divided into three groups of four. At first, however, the dolphins are elusive. Teasingly, they play at the bow for a few seconds at a time, before disappearing to feed. This shows they are interested, apparently, but they are hungry and food comes first.

We soon find out why as we come across a huge event, with hundreds of birds swooping to catch fish that have been pushed to the surface in a huge bait ball, with excited dolphins sporadically jumping out of the water across the horizon. I had seen these feeding frenzies in documentaries on television before, but never in real life.

Eventually, though, a few dolphins come and "engage". As Parker is standing in the bow net, one jumps up and playfully butts his foot with its head.

Into the water
During our first swim the water is green and murky and we can't see the dolphins until they are about a metre away. My head is cold and I have to clear salt water from my snorkel regularly, but it is a huge buzz as three or four dolphins at a time zig-zag across the waves in front of us, flicking their tails in our direction.

It is my second swim, however, that is the ripper.

The water seems clearer, and within seconds of us being in the water I hear the dolphins communicating under the water with a piercing cry. Four dolphins glide in front of us, and one is swimming upside down underneath another it seems to be attached to. I am not 100 per cent sure what is going on, but I have a pretty good idea. A couple of minutes later I notice a dolphin's multicoloured faeces floating along underneath me. I am glad I am wearing a wetsuit.

Each group gets five minutes in the water, but it actually feels much longer. After our turn, as we are climbing into the boom net to get back on to the boat, I feel a strange zap, and discover I have accidentally knocked the electro-magnetic shark shield Parker is wearing around his ankle. It gives me a bit of a shock.

When we are back on the boat, Parker confirms the two dolphins I saw in mirror image were, in fact, mating.

"They have sex all the time," he says. "They love it. It's a way of bonding."

The inspiration
Parker began running NSW's first accredited dolphin swim experiences at the start of the year after finally getting a licence after a four year process.

He first fell in love with the mammals after having some close encounters of his own while surfing and introduced a dolphin therapy program after literally having a dream one night about dolphins swimming with disabled children.

But he wanted to take it further and make the opportunity available to a wider audience. At $229 a cruise, the trips aren't cheap, but Parker says the price is comparable with other encounters with animals in the wild and if the dolphins are in the mood, each group may get a few swims in a fourhour period.

As well as the swims, his team is involved in research; studying the area's dolphin population to determine the number in each pod and their migratory patterns. They are compiling a photo identification catalogue of their dorsal fins, which are as unique as fingerprints.

While it is not an experience for the faint-hearted, it is great to finally tick it off the bucket list.

PHARMA RESEARCHERS WORKING ON DRUG TO ERASE YOUR MEMORIES

(NaturalNews) Drug researchers are working on a mind-altering chemical that could erase your memories. It's all being pursued under the umbrella of "mental health" with claims that this could help victims of emotional trauma. The idea that you can "heal" a patient by chemically lobotomizing them is, of course, entirely consistent with the core mythology of modern medicine: If something's wrong, you should poison it, burn it, irradiate it or cut it out... and then pronounce the patient "healed!"

In the case of memory-erasing drugs, scientists are reportedly working on a drug that would remove certain proteins from the brain's "fear center." This is based on the ludicrous idea, by the way, that memories are recorded solely by physical proteins in the brain -- an idea that's obviously based on an entirely outmoded mechanistic model of the human mind and brain.

Then again, modern medical science seems to be hopelessly stuck in the Dark Ages, believing that there must be a chemical cure for everything. Hence the ongoing waste of billions of dollars searching for a cancer cure as if it were some sort of acquired infection.

"Erasing a memory and then everything bad built on that is an amazing idea, and I can see all sorts of potential," said Kate Farinholt, executive director of the mental health support and information group NAMI Maryland, in a Baltimore Sun story (http://www.baltimoresun.com/health/...). But even she can see this approach could be fraught with danger: "Completely deleting a memory, assuming it's one memory, is a little scary. How do you remove a memory without removing a whole part of someone's life, and is it best to do that, considering that people grow and learn from their experiences?"

Torturing mammals in the name of "science"

In order to pursue this work on a memory-erasing drug, researchers used electroshocks on mice (which are mammals, of course) to "train" them to fear an audible tone. They noticed this electroshock torture resulted in the build-up of proteins in the brain's fear center (amygdala), so now they've leaped to the wild conclusion that proteins = memories and therefore the way to treat fearful memories is to chemically remove the proteins.

This is such sloppy quack science that I can't believe it even got published by a scientific magazine. It's the same sloppy thinking that caused medical doctors to leap to the erroneous conclusion that cholesterol is bad for you. That's one medical myth that has made Big Pharma hundreds of billions of dollars in cholesterol-lowering drugs that harm far more people than they help. Western scientists, ever stuck in the world of the physical, are easily misled into thinking that mental processes are solely based on proteins and chemicals rather than the far more profound neural network phenomena that really drive the functioning of the mind. Memories are not merely logged in the brain with proteins. If they were, our skulls would be as large as houses, filled with proteins from all the memories of our lives. In reality, memories are holographically recorded throughout the neural network of our brain which also interfaces with the non-physical human mind -- an entity of consciousness that extends beyond the physical realm (and which virtually the entire conventional scientific community has so far failed to acknowledge because they ridiculously believe that they, themselves, are biological automatons who lack consciousness).

More drugs for soldiers

Right now, U.S. soldiers are being drugged out of their minds with amphetamines and antidepressants. PTSD is the latest financial windfall for Big Pharma because more trauma means more profits from prescribing more drugs.

Just imagine how these "memory erasing drugs" might be used if they existed. First, they send you off to war, and if you somehow manage to survive that, they erase your memories when you come back home so you can't talk to the press about what really happened.

It's the perfect crime for a police state society: Destroy peoples' memories with the excuse of calling it "mental health treatment."

These drugs could be used on political prisoners, of course. Got someone speaking out against the government? Just arrest them, diagnose them with some mental disorder such as Oppositional Defiance Disorder, then force-feed them drugs that erase their memories.

A few months later, release them back into the world as mind-numbed zombies, where they are sure to go along with the rest of the crowd that's already lining up for vaccines, TSA pat-downs and mind-altering pharmaceuticals.

A memory-erasing drug is the ultimate Big Brother weapon because it could be used to destroy the personality of free-thinking individuals without blatantly killing them in the process.

No wonder pharma researchers are already working on this drug. It could be a powerful weapon in the corporate war on the people of our world -- a war that's already being waged against peoples' bodies and could soon extend to their very memories.

CDC AND ADA NOW ADVISE TO AVOID USING FLUORIDE

A new study in the Journal of the American Dental Association finds once again that, contrary to what most people have been told, fluoride is actually bad for teeth.

Exposure to high levels of fluoride results in a condition known as fluorosis, in which tooth enamel becomes discolored. The condition can eventually lead to badly damaged teeth. The new study found that fluoride intake during a child's first few years of life is significantly associated with fluorosis, and warned against using fluoridated water in infant formula.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is of a similar opinion. According to their website:

"Recent evidence suggests that mixing powdered or liquid infant formula concentrate with fluoridated water on a regular basis may increase the chance of a child developing ... enamel fluorosis."

It was 2007 when the American Dental Association (ADA) first warned that parents of infants younger than a year old "should consider using water that has no or low levels of fluoride" when mixing baby formula, due to concerns about fluorosis.

Now the Journal of the American Dental Association has published a study that found increased fluorosis risk among infants who were fed infant formula reconstituted with fluoride-containing water, as well as used fluoridated toothpastes.

The authors noted:

"Results suggest that prevalence of mild dental fluorosis could be reduced by avoiding ingestion of large quantities of fluoride from reconstituted powdered concentrate infant formula and fluoridated dentifrice."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has also followed suit, warning on their Community Water Fluoridation page that mixing powdered or liquid infant formula concentrate with fluoridated water on a regular basis may increase the chance of a child developing enamel fluorosis.

They also state:

"In children younger than 8 years of age, combined fluoride exposure from all sources—water, food, toothpaste, mouth rinse, or other products—contributes to enamel fluorosis."

This is as far as the CDC warnings go, however, and they continue to state that water fluoridation is safe -- and dental fluorosis is only a "cosmetic" problem. In reality, neither of these assertions is true.

Dental Fluorosis is a Sign of Excessive Fluoride Intake

Dental fluorosis results in white and brown spots on your teeth. It is only caused by fluoride -- typically due to ingesting too much fluoride during your developing years, from birth to about 8 years of age. According to the CDC, about one-third of U.S. children aged 12 to 15 years have very mild to mild forms of enamel fluorosis on their teeth.

Promoters of fluoridation say that these markings are "just cosmetic," but it can also be an indication that the rest of your body, such as your bones and the rest of your organs, including your brain, has been exposed to too much fluoride also.

As Dr. Paul Connett, a chemist specializing in environmental chemistry, explained in our recent interview:

"We know that 32 percent of American children have been overexposed to fluoride because you have this telltale sign of dental fluorosis, which in its mildest form is little white specs. But when it gets more serious, it affects more of the surface of your teeth and it becomes colored; yellow, brown and orange mottling of the teeth …

The teeth are the window to the bones. If you've seen the damage to the teeth, what damage can you not see?"

In other words, if fluoride is having a detrimental, visual effect on the surface of your teeth, you can be virtually guaranteed that it's also damaging something else inside your body, such as your bones.

Bone is living tissue that is constantly being replaced through cellular turnover. Bone building is a finely balanced, complicated process. Fluoride has been known to disrupt this process ever since the 1930s.

Why it's Dangerous to Swallow Fluoride

The United States is one of only eight countries in the entire developed world that fluoridates more than 50 percent of its water supply. It is added under the guise that it helps prevent and control tooth decay …

This is in spite of the fact that there never been any demonstrated difference in tooth decay between countries with fluoridated and non-fluoridated water, and no difference between states that have a high- or low percentage of their water fluoridated.

Even promoters of fluoridation concede that the major benefits are topical; fluoride works from the outside of the tooth, not from inside of your body, so why swallow it?

The fluoride added to your drinking water is in fact a chemical waste product! It is NOT something you should use as a supplement to your diet.

There are plenty of studies showing the dangers of fluoride to your health, such as:

* Increases lead absorption
* Disrupts synthesis of collagen
* Hyperactivity and/or lethargy
* Muscle disorders
* Brain damage, and lowered IQ
* Arthritis
* Dementia
* Bone fractures
* Lowers thyroid function
* Bone cancer (osteosarcoma)
* Inactivates 62 enzymes
* Inhibits formation of antibodies
* Genetic damage and cell death
* Increases tumor and cancer rate
* Disrupts immune system
* Damages sperm and increases infertility

As far as tooth decay is concerned, this is not caused by lack of fluoride.

Tooth decay is caused by acids in your mouth, typically created from sugar being metabolized by bacteria (Streptococcus mutans), and as you may already know, the number one source of calories in the United States is high fructose corn syrup.

The acid produced then attacks your enamel. Eventually the bacteria can get into the dentine, at which point tooth decay sets in. So there are far better options for decreasing tooth decay than using a topical or ingested poison, with a chief one being minimizing your intake of sugary foods and eating a healthful diet.

You typically don't find dental caries in more primitive societies that do not consume vast amounts of sugar like in the United States.

Make Sure Your Children are Not Exposed to Fluoride

One of dentist Bill Osmunson's main concerns is water fluoridation for infants. The ADA and the CDC now both recommend that infants NOT receive fluoridated water for drinking, nor for making their formula, as fluoridated water contains 250 times more fluoride than mother's milk.

"We shouldn't fluoridate water and harm our most vulnerable," Dr. Osmunson says.

It is my strong belief and recommendation to avoid giving your children fluoridated water.

Unfortunately, the only way to ensure your water is pure enough to drink is by installing ahigh quality water filtration system in your house, such as a reverse osmosis filter that can filter out much of the fluoride and other dangerous water contaminants like disinfection byproducts (DBPs).

Remember that most bottled water also typically contains fluoride, even though it's not stated on the label, and whatever you do, avoid using "nursery water," which is fluoridated water sold specifically for infants.

Fluoride in your drinking water is one more reason why breastfeeding your infant is so essential. Nature has kept breast milk virtually fluoride-free for a reason.

If you are unable to breastfeed and are instead using formula, make sure the water you use is fluoride-free. Again, for now the best way you can provide pure, fluoride-free water to your family is by using a reverse osmosis filter, which you can install in your home.

Even better, if you are unable to breastfeed use this recipe to make homemade infant formula using raw milk and no water at all.

Keep in mind also that if you are a pregnant woman it is equally important for your water to be fluoride-free, as this chemical can harm your developing fetus.

The Ultimate Solution is to Get Fluoride Out of Tap Water

Even though the ADA and the CDC have issued warnings that parents not use fluoridated tap water to make infant formula, neither of them has openly informed the public!

So there are millions of parents out there using tap water to make up formula, oblivious of the fact that the agencies that promote fluoridation in this country have issued a specific warning against using fluoridated water for this purpose.

Not only that, but by fluoridating the municipal water supply you doom many low-income families to fail to protect their young children from this dangerous drug, even if they have this information, as they simply don't have the resources to install a reverse osmosis system.

This is why the only real solution is to stop the archaic practice of water fluoridation in the United States.

The Fluoride Action Network is an absolutely phenomenal resource for further education, and they're doing much to pressure the US government for change. We will be working together to devise a complete game plan to tackle this issue head on. Once we reach the tipping point, which may be as little as 5 percent of the population, we will be able to reverse the policies of water fluoridation.

Our strategy will begin with addressing Canada, because 60 percent of Canada is already un-fluoridated. If we can get the rest of Canada to stop fluoridating their water, we believe the U.S. will be forced to follow.

HOW TO DETOX ALUMINIUM FROM THE BODY

Aluminum is the earth's most abundant metal. In its natural state, it is not harmful. Because it is so abundant, it is used in many of our everyday products. As aluminum is altered and overused, it builds up in our body tissues and organs, leading to aluminum toxicity. This can lead to many troublesome conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, liver and skin diseases, gastrointestinal trouble, heartburn, learning disorders and disabilities, and fatigue.
INSTRUCTIONS
Additions
1.Add apple pectin to your daily routine. Apple pectin binds with metals in the body and prevents them from absorbing into the tissues, and excretes them out of the system. You can get apple pectin straight from a fresh, raw apple, or buy it in powder or tablet form where supplements are sold.
2.Have some lemon juice. Squeezing half of a fresh lemon in a cup of warm water twice a day is one of the best ways to help your body detoxify from metals such as aluminum. The citric acid in the lemon juice helps move the metals out of the cells and tissues and back into the system where it can then be eliminated.
3.Kelp (seaweed) helps with body detoxification by absorbing metals in the body, just like it absorbs metals in the ocean. This absorption of them prevents them from being absorbed by the body and aids in excreting them. The easiest way to add kelp to your daily routine is as a nutritional supplement, available from most health food or nutrition stores.
4.Turmeric is a spice that is also an anti-oxidant that fights free radicals and toxic substances. It gently detoxes the liver and kidneys, both of which are affected by aluminum. Turmeric is available as a supplement or can be added to foods as a powdered spice.
5.Give yourself a detox bath. Whether you soak just your feet--or your whole body--a detox bath will help draw toxins such as aluminum out of the tissues and out of the body. To detox through your feet, fill a foot basin with water as hot as you can comfortably stand. Add 1/2 cup of Epsom salt and 1/2 cup of sea salt. Soak feet for at least 35 minutes or until water cools. Rinse feet with lukewarm water, and gently rub the skin dry to remove expelled toxins.
What to Eliminate
1.Eliminate aluminum containing health and beauty products. Read the labels on deoderants, toothpastes, and even over the counter antacids. All contain aluminum that can add up to toxic levels in the body.

People who have introduced green smoothies in to their diets have reported many health benefits. Raw food eaters in particular have embraced this nutritional powerhouse to boost their already nutritious diet, and to find that missing element to achieving excellent health and vitality.
What are they?
Green smoothies are smoothies with greens blended through them. Quite simple really. Greens are incredibly nutritious, however people struggle to eat enough of them with regard to quantity and many find them hard to digest. It has been suggested that this is due to not having enough stomach acid and not having enough jaw strength to chew them till they are a creamy consistency. Blended greens have their structure ripped apart and are effectively pre-digested. Adding fruit makes them taste great and is also a clever way of getting alot of fruit into your diet, which most people don't have enough of in addition to enough greens.
Below I have detailed further theory behind this wonderful type of food/drink and provided some tasty recipes with photos. Enjoy!!
What's the big deal about greens?
According to Victoria Boutenko greens are the primary food group that match human nutritional needs most completely.
Greens are loaded with amino acids, (the building blocks of protein), minerals, vitamins, fibre & chlorophyll.
Greens can be combined with any other food and enhance digestion by stimulating enzyme production. Hence the combination of greens and fruit in green smoothies is very acceptable i.e. versus the combination of fruit with other food types, and starch with protein e.g. classic SAD fair such as cheese and bread, milk and cereal (See the book by Victoria Boutenko, Green for Life for more detail).
Take a leaf out of a chimp's diet.....
Chimpanzees are the closest animal relative to humans sharing over 99% of the same genes. They eat a diet consisting of 50% fruit, 40% greens and 10% pith, bark and insects. This is all raw and whole food.
Over 50% of most SADs contain cooked carbohydrates such as potatoes, bread, pasta and rice. Approx 35% fats, oils and animal proteins and the rest fruit, veg and greens.
Even the average raw food diet has about 35% plant based fats and oils and a small percentage of greens.
The chronic diseases of humankind are not seen in wild chimps so why not take a leaf out of their book and see what their big secret is? No secret, lifestyle and diet are blatantly different.
A diet of 50% fruit, 40% greens and 10% or less fat is the ideal diet according to many experienced raw fooders and those with the best health. Hence green smoothies are an excellent way of getting extra greens into your diet in addition to eating alot of salad!
To eat or blend your greens??
Greens are biologically very hardy on a molecular level as they contain cellulose. Nutrients are stored within the plant's cells and their cell walls need to be ruptured to release them. This requires a significant amount of chewing, which humans struggle with, our jaws are not strong enough and we are very impatient. We also need strong stomach acid which many of us lack.
To get enough greens, blending them in a smoothie is ideal as it ruptures the plant cell membranes releasing nutrients very easily. Victoria Boutenko recommends a quart (1 litre) a day of green smoothie.
Any greens eaten whole are still encouraged, however they should be chewed very well!!
What is the best blender you may ask.....well any blender works however cheaper ones will break down sooner. The popular, expensive and very effective blenders are Vitamix and Blendtec as brands. Personally I use a Thermomix which is a multi-purpose kitchen appliance that blends, food processes, cooks if you want it to; warms or melts at 37 degrees Celsius, weighs, times, crushes ice, mills grain and more...its awesome.
My Green Smoothie Recipes
Firstly can I say that green smoothies don't taste horrible. They look green but taste like the fruit in them. Obviously if you go overboard with the greens it will taste pretty green, but generally speaking you don't taste the them much if at all.
All recipes below are approximately enough for two large glasses of green smoothie holding 2 cups or 16 fl. oz or 450mls.
It is generally recommended to use 40% greens and 60% fruit. If you do happen to overdo the greens, try a bit of vanilla or some lemon juice to take the edge off.
Greens I use are usually a combination of kale, silverbeet/chard and spinach. If kale is used I usually use it with a milder green as it can be strong. I have also recently experimented with my regular salad mix when I have run out of my 'greens for green smoothies container' in the fridge. They are also great, however be mindful that the red leaves are generally more bitter.
I have also used celery (stalks and tops), cos/romaine lettuce, carrot tops & parsley stalks. Any green can be used but be careful it is not a mustard green or rocket as the taste is dreadful!!! Experiment yourself however don't use the same one all the time. Its important to rotate your greens to respect the seasons, however it is more important to get a variety of nutrients and avoid the same plant alkaloids in greens. e.g. chard & spinach have oxalic acid in them and if you only eat chard or spinach in your green smoothies, you may start to have problems with too much of it in your system. One issue is It binds with calcium which will decrease absorption of this important mineral. I can tell if I have been eating too much of the same green, because I start to not want smoothies and I feel a bit queasy mid morning.
Try to buy your greens organic, they won't contain pesticides and herbicides and will contain more nutrients than conventional greens. If you can only buy non-organic please wash them very thoroughly with a good quality and chemical free fruit and veggie wash. Even better, grow them yourself. Silverbeet/Chard is so easy to grow, even someone without green thumbs can do it!
Be sure to blend thoroughly to break up all the greens, rest your blender if needed if you have a cheap one.
Please only use filtered water or pure spring water.

My Staple Green Smoothie
4 bananas or
2-3 bananas and 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries
2 tsp bee pollen
2 tsp InLiven Probiotic Superfood
1 sachet of Berry Radical Antioxidant Superfood
1 cup of water or fresh squeezed orange juice
generous portion of greens
1 tsp vanilla extract (this is the secret of calming down the greenness that can sometimes overpower the smoothie, if you have put a bit too much in taste wise)
Parsely & Lemon takes my Liver to Heaven

I bunch of flat leaf parsley
(keep the tender stalks and chop off the tough ones)
1-2 lemons with the rind, pith & seeds removed
1-2 bananas
20-30g of sweetener of choice e.g.honey/agave
1 cup of ice blocks
2 cups of water
Blend for 1-2 mins
variations
Keep the seeds for Vit B17
Keep the pith for bioflavanoids (will make the smoothie a little bitter)
No sweetening if you are hard core!!!!
Enzyme Frenzy
2 bananas
1 cup chopped papaya (red or yellow)
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
a big handful of greens
This naturally enzyme rich smoothie is easy to digest as it won't tax your own pancreas! Yay!
Bloody Great Green Smoothie
55% coconut water
45% greens
Blood is made up plasma and blood cells
Plasma comprises 55% of blood fluid and is mostly water (90% by volume) and containing dissolved proteins, glucose, mineral ions, hormones, carbon dioxide, platelets and blood cells themselves.
Blood cells are mainly red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Red blood cells are the most abundant and they contain hemoglobin, an iron-containing protein.
The plant version of hemoglobin is chlorophyll which is a green pigment based around a magnesium ion as opposed to iron (haem). Both hemoglobin and chlorophyll exist to obtain energy.

Add peeled fruit to blender
fill a large glass with ice blocks, top it up with water, then add to the blender
add kale and blend for 1-2 mins
The addition of ice helps to incorporate the fibre from the citrus and kale into the liquid, and gives it a beautiful creamy top when you pour it out, reminds of the top you get on a Guinness (it's been many years but I still remember!)
Taste before you consider adding sweetener, because depending how big your lemons and mandarins/oranges are, you may not need it.
Kale is an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C and manganese. It is also a very good source of dietary fiber, copper, calcium, vitamin B6 and potassium.
Vit C (in the kale and citrus) are known as potentially anti-cancer agents, and the Sulforaphane, which is formed when cruciferous vegetables such as kale are chopped or chewed (or blended), triggers the liver to produce enzymes that detoxify cancer-causing chemicals, inhibits chemically-induced breast cancers in animal studies, induces colon cancer cells to commit suicide. Cool huh!

Freaky fennel topped pineapple
This was a case of 'what on earth is left in the fridge'. I had some:
Leftover fresh, young coconut milk
The tops off a baby fennel that I had the bulb in a salad for
Some pineapple
I added a bit more water and my usual InLiven Probiotic Superfood and OMG what a taste sensation!! The sweet acidity of the pineapple and the aniseed from the fennel is amazing...and so wickedly green!
Blend it lots though becuase the fennel tops are a fine green.

Papaya, Pineapple, Parsely & Passionfruit
1 cup papaya (red is nicer than yellow)
1 cup of pineapple (include the core)
1-2 handfuls of flat leaf parsley (remove bigger stems)
1-2 passionfruit
2 cups water
Combine all except the passionfruit and blend
Scoop out the passion fruit pulp and sit on top of the smoothie like a garnish. You could blend the passionfruit through however the seeds will be gritty through the smoothie
The core and stem of raw pineapple contains the most bromelain in the whole fruit. Bromelain is an enzyme that helps with protein digestion. It is also suggested bromelain can help reduce inflammation, reduce coagulation of blood and reduce tumour growth.
Pineapple also contains excellent amounts of Vit C and the trace element manganese, which are both important for the immune system due to their antioxidant supporting roles.

1 mango
1 cup young coconut milk

1/2 to 1 cup of blueberries and 1 ripe banana
1 young coconut - flesh and water
1 tbs of raw cacao powder
1 tbs maca powder
small handful of goji berries
1 tbs hemp seeds
1-2 tsp bee pollen (careful if allergic - more if you please!)
10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4 inch piece of aloe vera inner leaf gel (or equivalent size)
Spirulina and/or E3Live blue-green algae and/or marine phytoplankton (dose according to bottle)
1/2 to 1 cup of water extra
Agave nectar, stevia or honey to sweeten
Blend all except the extra water and sweeteners
add extra water to desired smoothie consistency
add sweeteners a little at a time till the balance is right

This smoothie may not be a taste sensation but it contains David Wolfe's 10 top superfoods and will probably keep you going all day long@!!

VITAMIN E HELPS PREVENT DEMENTIA

(NaturalNews) A high dietary intake of vitamin E may reduce the risk of developing dementia in older adults, according to a study conducted by researchers from Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands and published in the journal Archives of Neurology.

Researchers recruited 5,395 Dutch adults over the age of 54 who did not have any form of dementia and questioned them about their typical diet. They then followed the participants for 10 years.

Based on the food intake data, the researchers calculated each participant's average intake of vitamin C and vitamin E. They found that even after adjusting for potential confounding factors such as age, alcohol and tobacco consumption, education and weight, participants with the highest vitamin E intake were 25 percent less likely to develop dementia than participants with the lowest.

The highest vitamin E intake in the study was approximately 18.5 milligrams per day. The U.S. government recommends a minimum intake of 15 milligrams per day.

Researchers believe that vitamin E, an antioxidant, may help reduce the brain inflammation that is associated with dementia. However, prior studies have failed to find any protective benefit from vitamin C, another antioxidant, suggesting that some other mechanism may be at work.

Prior research has found that vitamin E may also help slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease once it develops.

"Patients on [an] experimental vitamin E regimen were able to maintain daily functions, such as dressing themselves and handling money, for longer than Alzheimer's sufferers who were not taking the supplements," write the authors of Uncommon Cures For Everyday Ailments, published by Bottom Line Books.

Good dietary sources of vitamin E include wheat germ, some green vegetables (including broccoli and spinach), nuts (including almonds and hazelnuts) and vegetable oils (including safflower and sunflower oil).
